Our history and our future...

Where we started...

Racing4Charity is a 27-year fundraising partnership between Bill Williams and his good friend, triple Le Mans 24 Hours winner David Brabham. Together they have raised in excess of £350,000 to support small charities through special motorsport related events and auctions of racing memorabilia.

For many years, Racing4Charity’s Celebrity Karting Challenge held at the Autosport International show became world renowned. Professional drivers from across global motorsport would go wheel-to-wheel with members of the public to raise funds for various children’s charities including BLISS (Baby Life Support Systems), the Starlight Foundation and Malaria No More UK.

Where we are now...

After a ten-year hiatus, Racing4Charity is back with a new mission – to raise funds for the MND Association to support those living with MND, which sadly includes Bill’s brother Gideon.

With the resurrection of Bill and David’s legendary annual kart race, KARTING4MND and a charity auction will take place across the BTCC weekend, 26-29 August 2021, at Thruxton.

Where we want to be...

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a fatal, rapidly progressing neurological condition affecting up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. The current research will not be able to save or extend Gideon's life but his and Bill's wish is to raise funds for research for a treatment and eventually a cure.

As Gideon is no longer able to drive he has donated his race helmet to become The Gideon Williams Trophy.  In time this will become The Gideon Williams Memorial Trophy, a fitting tribute and lasting legacy.
